I am going to preface this post by just saying that I am doing this because it's FUN.
This is in no way a "Hey you need to buy me this stuff" post.
Just so we're clear.
Ahem, Dear Santa,
I have been a good Girl this year, really I have! You should keep an eye on my Kid too, he's pretty spectacular.
But let's just focus on me for a moment, shall we?
This is my wishlist, in no particular order...
Exhibit A:
Forlife Coffee Press
I will be using this gorgeous creature to make tea, likely several times a day, since we are all Tea People around here. I have a couple Forlife products already and they are all in high rotation. Their tea strainers are incredibly fine and hardy and this green colour is kind of killing me right now. I would also be super stoked with a White one.
(We had a glass Bodum a few years ago that we had taken up to the lake, and we accidentally smashed it into a million tiny pieces one Spring morning trying to surprise a mouse out of the kitchen. Which is Impossible by the way. You can't surprise a mouse anywhere. Those buggers are fast.)
Exhibit B:
Bario Neal "Val" Ring
I have Pinned this ring and stared at it for ages.
It's totally affordable, completely beautiful and I just love it.
I am trying to decide if I would wear it on my ring finger (size 5.5) or on my middle finger (size 6) but I am torn. Perhaps Santa, I will leave that in your hands.
Exhibit C:
"Made By Hand" by Lena Corwin
I have been a fan of Lena Corwin for some time now, and I am a HUGE advocate for making things with your own hands. I am excited to check out this book.
Exhibit D:
Leuchtturm1917 "dotted" Notebooks
I discovered these incredible Notebooks a few years ago and I can't use anything else for a sketchbook EVER AGAIN. I'm not even joking, I've tried. They are available in a variety of colours, of which you pick Santa I do not care, but the thing that I DO care about, that I really LOVE about these notebooks is that there are several different ways in which the pages are lined. And it's the DOTTED pages that are hard to find around here and they are may absolute favorite.
(You can find them at Bolen Books here in town, although they haven't had them while renovating so I am really hoping that they get some new ones in before Christmas.)
This is a gift that I would LITERALLY use every single day.
Exhibit E:
Etsy Gift card.
I feel like this is pretty self explanatory here Santa.
Mama wants to shop Etsy.
You can just email it to me!
Exhibit F:
Cash for Tattoos.
Yep, that's what I said. I can't justify spending any money myself on new ink right now, but the hankering is starting to settle in and I am itching for new ink! I want to finish my back and I have a couple of sweet sentimental tattoos that I would like to get in the next year or so, so I am starting the Fund!
Exhibit G:
Dremel Hand Tool
Yeah, Mama loves tools.
I have been getting back into wax carving for Casting lately and one of these sexy little numbers would will round out my kit nicely. Then I wouldn't have to be at my bench to work, I could set myself up at the kitchen table and work after Sonny goes to bed. This is nice for me, because I am REALLY digging setting up the ipad with old Bones episodes on Netflix and working away. I'll carve a ring while "watching" up to three episodes in a row!
Such good fun!
Any hardware store should have one of these Santa, if the Elves still have a hard time with electronics.*
Exhibit H:
Cordless Hand Drill
Yep, another tool. I have been mooching Papere's rad Red drill anytime I have a project in the house and I think that it might be time for me to have one of my own. I don't know what the Make of his is, it's red, I think there is a "V" in the name somewhere... this is super helpful I know. But you have magical powers so I'm going to let you figure this out.
It comes in it's own own red case, has two rechargable battery packs and a kit of different bits.
Oh it's just a dream.
Exhibit I:
A weekend off.
I have a toddler and a husband who is kicking his Honour's Dregree's Ass and I want to get the F out of Dodge for a night or two and know that they are both being taken care of and fed and whatnot, and I don't want to ask Geoff to set aside any school time so I can do it.
So if you can send an elf or two my way, and maybe see fit to dropping a little spending money into the pot (I would consider a trip to the mainland with a girlfriend as TOTALLY acceptable) I would make sure that I enjoyed every second of it.
For real.
Exhibit J:
This one is a bit tricky because it's kind of vague.
But I'll just put the word out and let you ponder it.
I have some incredibly talented friends, and I covet their wares.
Toy & Ming makes incredible clothes, her current line has a denim dress that is KILLING me and I covet so bad.
BlackbirdStudio makes insanely beautiful ceramics and I always want more of her mugs.
(I will admit that I have a bit of a Mug Problem, but now is not the time to reign that in.)
Floating Gold Iceberg is a consistent winner.
BonspielCreation makes these leather mittens that I don't need but really WANT. Perfect for long walks with the stroller!
So, I don't know, can you just come and shop the Holiday Markets with me? I can point everything out and try stuff on and you can see just how rad it all is.
(there is a list of them on the left)
I am going to pause here because I feel like I am getting a bit gluttonous.
But there you have it Santa, a list of loves from little ol' me.
*When we were kids, whenever we asked Mom and Dad to pass on our lists to Santa, if there was a Video game or any electronic toy on the list the story was that Elves Don't Do Electronics.
We have never questioned this logic.

Covets (for Sonny)
Jenna Rose Ships Bucket

I am picturing this in the living room, corralling all of the weird baby toys we've managed to collect.
Okay, I guess they are not so weird, but they are all small, floppy, crinkly or squeaky and I like the idea of them all in one place, easy to grab, and not lining every single window sill in the house.
Because that's mostly where they are living now. When they are not being ferociously chewed on.

Look how beautiful this is!
Available here
You should consider checking out Jenna Rose's Blog. Here.
It's lovely.
She inspires me to draw more.

Covets! I how I covet.
I have been loving adult tricycles for AGES and have been thinking about how great it would be to be able to get back into shape after Sonny by riding around on one.
I love my Beasty-clette, but she's a little too makeshifty to ride while pregnant, and she's been languishing in the carport for the last 7 months.
Poor girl, I should see if anyone else can give her a good home.
Anyway, I just now off handedly searched usedvictoria for adult tricycles and THIS CAME UP!

So amazing! Can I justify this right now? I feel like I should wait until Snny actually arrives to get a sense of what life will actually be like, but ohmygod it's so awesome!
Someone is going to scoop this up, and I will be super jealous.
(if I'm really lucky it (or something like it) will still be available in the spring.)
sigh!

love love love!

A friend just posted this on Facebook and I had to share.
Because it's SO FLIPPING AWESOME.
If it wasn't for my vow to only buy things that I really need I would find a way to get my hands on this!
I might really need this anyway. I don't know if you know how much I LOVE Pride and Prejudice.
It's a lot.

EmersonMade Spring.

Oh this woman.
I love (and I mean LOVE) everything that she puts together.
The EmersonMade spring line is on the website today and I am coveting hard.
It's like she knows exactly what I want to wear, accessories and everything, and them makes them.
This is one of the reasons that I need a HUGE expendable income.
So I can get one of everything.
(particularly that topper coat. Oh. My. God.)

sigh! (post belly covet)

Mama wants these.
I haven't been able to comfortably wear jeans in months.
Next year my lovelies, sigh, next year.

love love love!

I just found these RAD HAIR PICS and I am feeling super jazzed about a new style.
I have been trying desperately to grow out my bangs so that I can just tie it up out of my face once I am dealing with a squalling infant, but it's HARD.
Ack I just want to rock cool fun hair again!
(I found all of these through Creature Comforts)

COVET!
Oh my dear lord this bag is AMAZING.

I have loved Moop for AGES now and it seems like her bags are just getting better all the time.
OhMyGodILoveThisBagSoMuch!!
I could carry so many diapers in it too. So maybe I actually need this bag.
So many things to save up for. And so many cravings to feed! who's gonna win??

When the time comes
I am going to order this lovely top...

(It was originally designed for breastfeeding and I like the idea of looking stylish when I've got a tiny human attached to me like a limpet.)
The designer, Replicca is Canadian too.
Got to love that.
(plus I love that everything in her shop looks luxurious and comfortable)

Covets

I've been coveting THESE for the longest time.
I bet that they would be really good for a new mama, slip on shoes, ready to go!
(plus I love that they donate a pair to a child for every pair sold. Incredible)
Maybe in the spring.
I have been spending WAAAY too much time on etsy looking at baby things. I'll put together a list to share soon. Now I have to eat breakfast and get dressed. And stay away from the computer for the rest of the day! I haven't even started my christmas gifts for this year yet! December is going to be INSANE.

Is it wrong
that I want an iPad, even though I don't need one?
Because I really want one.
(but I also really have to pay off my student loan. Boo.)

The trouble with etsy
is that I find so many things that I covet.
Like THESE for example.

I found them both here at ShipWreck Design's shop.
Neither of them are in my size unfortunately, but the images are so great! I would be tempted to order that wolf shirt if they had it in small.
sigh.

Slub knit cuteness

I am just going to say that I don't know what a "slub" knit is.
Is it like a jersey? Stiffer like a woven cotton?
It's pretty cute as this sweet little sundress though.
Available at The Gap.

Let me just gush about a few things...
I am going to just have a gushfest right now.
A few things that I am LOVING, in no particular order...
Cute Short Haircuts.
I know that I've gone on about them before, but I am starting to see some REALLY cute short haircuts around lately.
These ladies are all rocking some sweet crops that I am COVETING hard.

(all pics from people.com)
THE WEATHER.
It's BEAUTIFUL today, I rode my bike to the farmers market and it was perfect and amazing the whole way. Thank you weather for today!
My Bike.
It's hilarious and amazing. I haven't taken pictures of it yet, because I am still working on it, but it's ride-able now, and just the day before yesterday I strapped a tiny back pack to the rear wheel for a random, makeshift pannier.
AND IT TOTALLY WORKS!
So this afternoon I am going to pick up a second one from Mountain Equipment Coop so I've got a balanced pair. $11 is totally doable.
I have named my bike La Beasty-clette.
I am loving her a lot right now.
The Moss St. Market.
(check out their website here)
Since I just got back from there I am feeling extra lovey towards it. I picked up some beautiful carrots (eating them raw right now in fact) tiny turnips, fresh apple juice, some wild crafted muscle salve, a beautiful tiny little dish to put my rings in at night(from a girl who couldn't have been more than 10), some neighborhood honey (and I'm not even kidding when I tell you it's made BLOCKS from my house. So awesome) some salad greens. And I only took $45 with me!
Oh my god!
So happy right now!

Say what??
Last nights show was really awesome, I'vegot some video that I need to upload to share that I will try to get done this week.
But the Reason for this small random post is that I wanted to see if I can blog from the iPad!
Our friend Kyle came over last naught for the show and he's got one and he has kindly let me play with it!
Good man.
It's pretty cool, still working out the kinks of it, but it's definitely fancy.
I can see myself reading books on it maybe!
Now I just need to figure out how to properly use the Internet on this thing so that I can attach photos and other things to posts!

i want one SO BAD!
This is a totally selfish covet post right here.

I have been LOVING these spiderweb pendants by DollyBird for AGES, but the were always a little too large for me.
But she is making 1" pendants now and I am FLIPPING OUT.
OHMYGODTHEYARESOBEAUTIFUL!
She has a whole slew of amazing jewellery that I want.
Like THIS
and THESE!
