Just a quick one

I know that things have been light here this week on the posting front, but it's for a good cause. Really.

I am putting the last few touched together for the Loudspeaker Festival Market this weekend (tomorrow!!) and I have been totally swamped in my studio. In a good way, but still swamped.

It's been really beautiful here too, so I am trying to stay away from windows and doors so I don't get lured outside into the sunshine.

Here are some pictures I took last week when the weather was quite similar to today...

And this guy...

I don't know what he is, but I like him.

Here's hoping that you have a great weekend and if you ARE in Victoria, I really would love to see you at the Event Center!

New Prints!

We've been working on Spring 2010 over at FGI for the last couple of weeks (longer than that really, but particularly for the last couple of weeks)

and it's looking pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Here are some of the prints I've been working on lately...

It's always a relief to me to really get into drawing for a while. Isn't that funny? I forget how much I love it when I get wrapped up in bench work, and other things (easily distracted you know!)
But I've been very happy to hunker down and draw.

Particularly this one.

I had found this leaf on the road on my way into work a few months ago and held onto it for when I was ready to draw again, and I am glad that I did. It was a good couple of sessions of sitting on the floor in the living room, music on, dog cozy, sun in through the windows to make it happen.

Very enjoyable.

It's March already

What the hell?

In the last couple of weeks, I have been taking some pictures of stuff around Vancouver that catches my eye and things that have sentimental value. Stuff that we want to remember.

Speaking of taking pictures, I got a RAD new camera for Christmas and it's seriously awesome.
This one.

Thanks Mom!
I am still using it on automatic, got to go back to my school binders to relearn ISO's and all that.

And it takes amazing photos already. Just on Auto!
LOVE IT!

The sky is SO BLUE when it actually shows itself that I always find myself looking up with the camera.

Norman was so confused the last time I took him out to take pictures with me. Usually I want to hustle as fast as possible to get back to whatever I was working on before we left, but I kept making him stop every time I saw something even remotely interesting.
He was very good about it though. He even stopped to smell his own spring flowers.
