Origin (Gluten Free) Bakery

I cannot even express to you how wonderful this bakery is. It's only been open for just over a month now, and they make INSANELY DELICIOUS GF breads and treats.
I went in and got to chat with the women behind it all and they are lovely and fresh and are making a valuable contribution to this community.

Geoff and I popped in this morning and picked up a couple of muffins (moist and cakey and not GF tasting AT ALL!), a chocolate cupcake (rich and delicious - with icing even)
and a couple of dinner rolls for later.

I haven't tried mine yet but it looks great.

And what I am probably the MOST EXCITED about is the baguettes.

That's right. BAGUETTES!!!!!

They weren't out of the oven yet when we were there, but I intend to call in one morning and pick up one (or three) on my way into work.

You can check out their website HERE

Ladies and Gentlemen!

Get your fine selves ready for a great fun night out!
The Sweatpant Superstars are together again for one amazing night of rad beats and fly rhymes.

Yeah you like that?

I know you do.

May 18th at Lucky Bar.
Show starts at 9! So don't show up at 11 thinking you are all cool and late night. You'll have missed the best part.

Geoff is one half of the SS and I'll be there to support and generally have a good time, so you should really think about getting to it.

Don't forget!

It's still on for tomorrow, rain or shine!
(you should come if only to see the HILARIOUS umbrella that I'll have strapped to my table. it's huge and insanely bright!)

I'll have some Leather Feather Earrings, a few one-of-a-few and sample rings, some Loveknot Earrings (new!) and some sweet crochet necklaces on hand for you to try on (I've got a big mirror!)

I have decided to try a more accessible price point for markets, so aside from a couple of silver Feather necklaces, everything will be priced under $50!

Wee!

Hope to see you there!

UPDATE! The garden partay was a total blast! Thanks to everyone who came out to say hello and do a little shopping. You guys are rad.
I got a hilarious sunburn, the first of the year (last year my hilarious spring sunburn was Opposite Socks. It was achieved by wearing leggings and no shoes while reading a magazine in the sunshine.) This year I've got Mini Vneck, which was achieved by diligently putting sunscreen on my face and neck (and remembering to wear a sun hat no less) but completely forgetting to sunscreen my clavicles because I left the house wearing a scarf. Which promptly came off due to the beautiful sunshine.
HENCE the slightly crooked v neck burn I've now got thanks to wearing a collared shirt.

Anyway, it was a good day all around!
Thanks!

i want one SO BAD!

This is a totally selfish covet post right here.

I have been LOVING these spiderweb pendants by DollyBird for AGES, but the were always a little too large for me.

But she is making 1" pendants now and I am FLIPPING OUT.

OHMYGODTHEYARESOBEAUTIFUL!

She has a whole slew of amazing jewellery that I want.
Like THIS
and THESE!

earth day love

Happy Earth Day you!

Do you have any eco conscious plans on the radar?
Geoff and I are always pretty aware of what we're doing and how it affects the world around us. I can't remember the last time I bought a bottle of water (always have my Klean Kanteen with me) and I take the bus everyday (and now that the weather is improving so beautifully I've been walking a lot more and I've got a hilarious old bike in the carport that is just waiting for some TLC)

In fact I am REALLY excited to get that bike ready to ride, I've been feeling the long winter months of less activity weighing on me (ha! Get it?) and I am ready to get ready for summer on the lake (just the weekends this year, we were so lucky to be able to live at the lake last summer, but new job = new schedule and I've only got weekends to enjoy the lake. Tough I know. My life is SOOO hard.)

I'll take pictures of the bike as I get to work on it. I am thinking that I'll be able to start getting parts for it next paycheck!

Tres Exciting!

She and Him

I know that this is certainly not the first time you are reading about this, but it has been on HEAVY rotation here and I still can't quite get enough of it.

Volume Two is awesome (Volume One is awesome too, let's not forget to mention this shall we?)

Check out more here

The second song particularly makes me cry EVERY TIME it comes on. I expect that it will be sung as a lullaby to any and all children within a 2 block radius of me that can't sleep from now on. That good.

When the time comes...

My hair will look like this...

Oh my god SUCH A CUTE HAIRCUT!!
Ginnifer Goodwin is such a cutie too!

(I wish I could remember where I found this picture. Lately the computer has been crashing when I am right in the middle of things, and I have a bad habit of just pulling images onto the desktop when I see something I like and then a week later, when I clean it all up into my folder - it's Geoff's laptop don't you know, got to keep my random haircut/fashion images to myself!- I have completely forgotten what's on there)

But I am not ready for that yet. I am growing out the bangs again, and I want to rock some long mostly all one length hair for a while.

But I keep thinking about short.

Every ten years or so I shop it all off, and it's almost ten years since the last time it was short.

And I am lucky to be blessed with a husband who likes it on me (it was short when we met!)

I'm just going to keep thinking about it and collecting pictures for my Hair Binder.

Yes I have one of those.

I did not make this up

So awesome.

playing with wire

There is something to be said for something sweet and simple no?

After drawing swirls in my book and thinking about the cleanest/most minimal/stark/simple way to make something, these guys happened.

What do you think?

I think I like them.

I think that I might make a few more pairs for What Women Want. It's a Garden Party (how awesome is THAT?!) with all sorts of lovely ladies selling lovely wares.
April 25th, that's the weekend after next people!

You can see me there, rings on my fingers and bells on my toes (maybe)!

Oooh I want these!

I am coveting again!

I have recently started a new job in a clinic here in town and I can't wear open toed shoes.

(I am making a sad face right now, because I am so temperature sensitive and I love my birk's SO MUCH!)

But then I thought to myself, I bet Birkenstock has some lovely clogs that are going to be PERFECT, and of course, they do.

SO.

I need these before it gets too hot.

I bet you thought that I was never going to post silly things like SHOES again didn't you? Don't you worry. I'll be blogging about haircuts too before you know it!

bread bread bread.

Do you remember a while back when I was going on about the Bob's Red Mill GF Bread mixes and how I was going to try the "Hearty whatever" one?
Well I did.

And it IS hearty.

AND IS THE SAME SIZE AS REGULAR BREAD!

That loaf lasted us a few days too, which in itself is amazing for us.

Just had to share.

Now I am off to make myself some food (probably toast) because I am SO HUNGRY!

I am going to have to get this for you.

I found it while I was poking around Black Eiffel and she found it here

Also, for the record, you should poke around Black Eiffel for a while.

It's consistently awesome.

Easter Easter

I am not really sure where Spring has gone so far.
It's Easter already?

I hope that all of you out there who celebrate this weekend are spending the day with family and friends, enjoying the Bounty of the Bunny (Chocolate people)!

I am making crepes for dinner at my Parent's place tonight, and hoping that I might see a single Reese's Peanut butter Egg.

SO GOOD!

Where we deviate from the usual.

A couple of weeks ago Geoff and I went for a walk on our own.
This doesn't happen very often, as Norman generally comes along, which is fair, since he's a dog and all, and they like to go for walks.

Anyway.
We went on our own because Geoff wanted to show me the Look Out, which I had never seen before.

It was perfect.
