The Fox is this weekend!

My lovely friends Jen and Joanne organize the incredible Fox Fair every February.
This is the 4th year now and it's one of my absolute favorite markets.

The vendors are great, the music is fun and the energy the whole time is just so wonderful.
I always get a little silly at markets, and I am guessing that since this will be my last face to face market before baby arrives, that I will be sillier than ever.

I will not be packing chocolate covered almonds this year... our usual Power Pellet staple snack, because Terrible Truffles is a vendor this year! 

They make a cassis truffle in white chocolate that is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE and I will be budgeting extra cash to eat a lot of them this weekend.

A lot.

I am bringing some new bangles to this market, I ordered some new stamps that I am really excited about, a Bee, an Arrow, and a new Crescent Moon.

Oh they are so sweet!

I've made some new recycled charms with the new shapes, along with some more birds, and these new bangles!

I'm not sure what to call them yet, it's just in time for Valentine's so they could be Cupid's Bangles, or Flight of Arrows??

Not sure what their name is yet, but they are pretty darn cute.
I'll be bringing 10 finished ones with me, as well as more Birdie Bangles.

And new Leather Feather earrings!
I've updated the shape and there are some new printed colours in there and I am working hard to not keep them all for myself.

 Which is ridiculous because there are something like 30 new pairs.

And I've got the new Bronze Cocktail rings on my bench getting cleaned up over the next couple of nights as well.
I only have 8 of them, but they are pretty nice.  If I do say so myself.

 

(these shots aren't the greatest, I have only been using my iphone to get pictures at night while I am working... but I am charging the battery for the real camera AS WE SPEAK, so to speak)

And I will also be bringing a few sample pieces that have been hanging out in the studio, just waiting for the light of day to grace themselves...

Ursa Handmade Market

Do you remember when I was telling you about a big project that I've been working on?
Well let me tell you  little bit about it right now!

The First Annual Ursa Handmade Market is a one day maker's fair showcasing some of the incredible talent on and around Vancouver Island. 

And I am not kidding when I say incredible.

I have been doing markets and craft fairs for some years now (I think the first one I participated in was in school, back in 2004... and I even organized a couple at school too, one of which was the most successful one they'd had in years!  I can't take all the credit for that one, my dear friend Sandra played a big roll there)

A couple of craft fairs ago, probably at Christmas time I started playing with the idea of hosting one of my own now.  Why not I thought?  I LOVE being a vendor at these markets, and the other vendors that participate with me are so amazing, I wanted to offer another chance for us all to work together again.

So I just did it!

It's been a lot of hard work, forcing me to overcome my INTENSE procrastinator style, that I am really good at by the way.   But I have organized all the vendors, put together an event page on Facebook (here!), set up and organized the space, I'm getting insurance next week, I've drawn up the poster BY HAND like a lunatic, and I even approached NATIONAL NEWS to interview me about the event.

Yeah.  I did.

I haven't heard back yet, but I DID post the event to every community calendar I could think of and I am sent the info to radio and TV too.

I am taking this seriously because I want this to be great.
GREAT I TELL YOU!!

So please, share the information to everyone you know, share the Facebook page and invite your friends!  There is going to be great music, great vendors, great food (Taco Justice and Terrible Truffles... seriously) and I am working on what I think could be the cutest nearly free garlands you have ever seen.
Just need to pick up some silver and gold spray paint (oh and make all of my inventory for my own booth!)

Ursa is going to be wonderful and I hope that you can come!

The Fox Fair revisited

I love the ladies who put together The Fox.  Oh boy do I.
I look forward to The Fox every year, and I always have a great time.

I decided that since I was SO TIRED and up SO LATE the nights leading up to it that I would break my No Caffeine rule (I am NOT allowed to have caffeine.  Medical professionals have told me so) but I broke my rule and put half of a Tetley tea bag into my morning herbal tea.

Whoa nelly there is a reason I am not allowed to have it!  There are a couple actually, but I am specifically referring to the LUNATIC that I became by 10 am.

I was so hyped up and zippy that I am sure I made some of the other vendors cringe.
Maybe not ACTUALLY cringe, but I was so self aware of how Incredibly Perky I was feeling that I actually considered taking a jog around the block at one point just to use up some of the energy!

JUST THINK OF WHAT I COULD GET DONE IN A DAY! 

And because of my increased energy levels, I didn't stop and think to take photos throughout the day like I had planned.
I did get a couple of shots of set up and at the end of the day though.

 

Just look at those curtains!  And how cute my Market Partner is!  Ack it kills me!

The New Copper Barnacle earrings were a big hit, and I am back at my bench this week to make more and to fill orders for a couple of custom bracelets and to prep packages to go out to Real Live Boutiques!
